  Not your fault.
  udevd writes to syslog, not to stderr, so it will ignore your logger.
If you want to log udevd messages, you need a syslogd.

  You could try the --debug option to udevd, but I'm not sure whether this
makes it ignore syslog entirely; and even if it does, it makes it produce
debug output which you don't want.

  The easiest solution is to have a syslogd service, if you can start one
before udevd.
