After googling `LNXSYSTEM', I found this to be seemingly doable using
regular Unix filesystem mechanisms on sysfs. But sysfs seems to be
controlled by the systemd people [1], so this is more of a political
issue than of a technical issue. (Or perhaps this is just a part of the
grand conspiracy, if you prefer ;)
